Location: Racer check-in, the pre-race meeting and the race start will be held at
the YMCA Trout Lodge & Camp Lakewood, near Potosi, MO. If you are flying in for the Mighty MO
Expedition, please make arrangements to fly into Lambert-St. Louis International
Airport. The race will be a point-to-point race, and the finish will not be at the YMCA Trout Lodge. All team's support personnel should plan
to carry all of their team's gear with them once the race starts, unless your team has worked out arrangements with the YMCA Trout Lodge before-hand.
Teams that fly in for the race should make arrangements to fly out of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport on Sunday.
Dates and Times: May 15-18, 2008. The race start will be announced at the pre-race meeting, and all teams will have
up to 80 hours to complete the course. Racer check-in will start at 12PM and will remain open until 5PM on Wednesday, May 14th at the YMCA
Trout Lodge. There will be a mandatory gear check of all the required gear for all racers when they check in as well as a ropes hook-in review.
The pre-race meeting will start at 7:30PM sharp on Wednesday evening, and this is when racers will receive the official start time of the race,
course details and maps, and all other information about the race.
Format: The Mighty MO Expedition is only open to 4-person teams. This race will be supported, and all teams must
provide a minimum of one support person and a maximum of two support persons.
The Course: The course for the 2008 Mighty MO Expedition will be a very challening and fun course for teams of
all skill levels and experience. Teams will race on new trails, rivers and terrain that no adventure race course has ever been on. Teams will
ride some of the best single track mountain bike trails in the state, see beautiful caves, paddle crystal-clear spring-fed rivers along towering
bluffs and trek through steep, rugged terrain. The 2008 Mighty MO Expedition course will again be between 200-250 miles, and teams should not
take this course lightly. It will challenge even the most experienced adventure racing teams, and will provide an adventure of epic proportions
to teams that have never competed in an expedition length race.

The Mighty MO Expedition will accept entries from the first 40 teams to register.

Lodging: All racers must check in at the YMCA Trout Lodge & Camp Lakewood on Wednesday, May 14th. Teams have a
few options available for lodging on Wednesday, May 14th:
1. Bonk Hard Racing has worked out a special deal with Camp Lakewood for the Mighty MO Expedition that will allow racers to stay in dormitory-style
cabins, with bunk beds, for $45/person on Wednesday night. There are a limited number of cabins however, and there are only enough cabins to accomodate 27 teams
as well as up to 2 support persons for those 27 teams. It is possible that some teams may be sharing a room with another team in these cabins,
but most teams will have their own rooms. No team will be split up, and each room in the cabin has its own restroom. Each cabin has a lounge
area and a deck as well. This price includes three meals: lunch on Wednesday, a pasta dinner on Wednesday evening and breakfast on Thursday morning.
All teams will be required to pay the $45 / person when they arrive on Wednesday. These cabins will be available to the first 27 teams to
successfully register and make their payment for the Mighty MO Expedition. If you are interested in staying in these cabins, please call
Judy Gillam at 573-438-2154 ext. 114 between 9:30AM - 5PM Central Time, Monday through Friday, to reserve a spot in the Camp Lakewood Cabins
for your team.
2. For all other teams, there are several other options available for lodging on Wednesday evening. The first are the Forest View Family Cabins.
There are 10 cabins available, and Bonk Hard Racing has worked out a special rate for these cabins on Wednesday night. These cabins can fit
two full teams (it is not required that two teams stay together in the cabins though), including both
team's support crew. The Cabins are very nice and include two bedrooms, each with one full bed & two bunk beds, two bathrooms, living area with
sofa, table & chairs, small refrigerator, microwave and stone fireplace, two roll-away beds and a screened-in porch. The price of the cabins
also include three meals: lunch on Wednesday, a pasta dinner on Wednesday evening and breakfast on Thursday morning. Prices for the cabins are
$75 per person, and all rates include 3 meals.
All teams interested in staying in the Family View Cabins will be required to make arrangements with the YMCA in advance. Bonk Hard Racing has
10 cabins reserved for Wednesday before the race. If your team is interested in staying in one of the Forest View Family Cabins, it is
recommended that you make reservations as soon as possible by calling Judy Gillam at (573)438-2154, ext. 114. Please note if you are
interested in sharing a cabin with another team.
3. Super 8 Motel in
Potosi (about a 10-15 minute drive to the YMCA Trout Lodge & Camp Lakewood). There are plenty of rooms available at the Super 8 in Potosi, and
most rooms with two beds can be reserved for under $70 per room.
Racer Check in: Check-in for all teams will take place on Wednesday, May 14th at the YMCA Trout
Lodge & Camp Lakewood in the Chapel. Racer check-in will start at 12PM and all teams must be checked in by 5PM. There will be a mandatory
gear check of all the required gear for all racers when you check in as well as a ropes hook-in review.
Pre-race Meals: All racers that stay at the YMCA Trout Lodge or Camp Lakewood will have three meals provided: lunch
on Wednesday, a pasta dinner on Wednesday evening and breakfast on Thursday before the start of the race.
Support Crew: The Mighty MO Expedition will be a supported race. Teams must have a minimum of one and a
maximum of two support persons, and all members of your support crew must have a valid driver's license. All support
persons must have access to a vehicle that can accommodate your team's 4 mountain bikes and all of your race gear. Please see the Gear List
for other items that the support crew is required to have during the race.
Volunteers: If you would like to volunteer for the the Mighty MO Expedition, please
contact the race staff. Volunteers are so important to every race. Volunteering is also
a great opportunity for you to see if you would enjoy doing an expedition-length race. All volunteers for the 2008 Mighty MO
will receive discounted race entry certficates, a free wicking performance shirt, a pre-race pasta meal and one fantastic adventure.
